A fantastic way to spend a day in the city! We walked all around town (6.11 miles!) and identified 15 species of birds. I really wanted to see the Custom House peregrine falcon, but no luck. The real highlight was a bit of a mystery. I’m fairly certain it was a common loon, even though that feels like a big improbability. It was off the Harborwalk, low in the water with a puffy white breast, white dappled black back, and a long neck tightly nestled against its body. The only thing that didn’t seem loon-ish was it didn’t seem like the beak was pointed enough. 🤷🏻♂️
I can’t wait until next years Big Day Boston!
